#78 Fuel Cafe

Lately, Melissa Sunshine's been buzzing me 'bout this Bonsai coffee and cake. Instead of travelling half the Peninsular to her place, I managed to sample not one but two Bonsai creations.

Enter Fuel Cafe, a cafe run by Chinese owners. Yes, they do serve Beijing noodles here...

#77 RGB & The Bean Hive

Gosh this is embarrassing, it's been months since I last visited RGB & The Bean Hive during its soft-launch phase. Due to an unforeseen mishandling of data archive, I could only recover and retrieve this set of shots for now...

Enter RGB & The Bean Hive, RAW Coffee's reincarnation in the form of a beautiful hidden cafe. Secluded in plain sight with plenty of neighbourhood shrubs, RGB & The Bean Hive is a dual-establishment consisting of a cafe and a bean roasting section.

With the same folks behind RAW Coffee running the joint, rest assured that every cuppa Joe is as good as it gets.

Gotta admire the very clean and sleek interior design. Showered with unfiltered natural light, the place oozes coziness and charm, especially its British-inspired furniture set.

The coffee roaster from Wisma Equity's RAW Coffee...

The coffee's been great, but my plate of aglio oglio was a tad too spicy though...

This might be one of KL'S best secrets..

#76 Nutmeg

Few weeks ago, Melissa Sunshine was in town for convocation. Waking up to empty stomachs,we were basically bickering about what's for breakfast. Driving and roaming around town, we decided to stop by Bangsar Village II's Nutmeg, a place well-known for its breakfast/brunch? menu...

The first picture was taken two hours later after our breakfast, the crowd was overwhelming. We were there early, just in time for an isolated table-for-two...

Since it was Halloween, the place was abound with wallpapered bats and

We ordered two dishes, two for two....

Nutmeg Big Breakfast (RM 28)

Feeling famished to a point where I could swallow an elephant, I opted for a big breakfast. Nutmeg's version of the continental breakfast consists of two eggs done any style (mine's omelette), confit mushrooms, roasted  garlic tomatoes, fried mac & cheese, house-cured salmon and toasted bread.

Highlight's on the very fresh salmon and garlic tomatoes. The fried mac & cheese was awesome. However, the confit mushrooms didn't quite hit the right note with its slightly raw taste.

Nutmeg Gravlax "Croissant-wich" (RM 26)

Melissa's choice was a safe bet - a smoked paprika Gravlax topped with scrambled eggs served with a toasted croissant. The softness of the fresh Gravlax and scrambled eggs goes very well with the crispy and fluffy croissant.

#75 Artisan Coffee Bar

Few weeks ago, I had a date with Melissa Sunshine. After having our breakfast at Nutmeg, we decided to drop by Artisan Coffee Bar, strictly for dessert.

We ended up sampling The Tapping Tapir's soda, which both were fragrant and refreshing.

For dessert, we shared a cheese pie. Thick and sweet, the cheese wrapped in between layers of chocolate and cookie crumble tasted just like its cheesecake, only smaller in proportion...

#74 Artisan Coffee

As usual, there's nothing like waking up early on a weekend just to explore new breakfast and coffee places.

With that being said, I've just visited Artisan Coffee HQ at PJ last few weeks ago. This place is certainly more roomy than its TTDI joint, and it even collaborates with Wondermama to serve hearty breakfast dishes.

This place is very industrial-looking. Most of the furnitures and counters are basic woods, concrete and bricks...

The food was okay, really nothing to shut about. However, thumbs up for the flat white...

#73 Artisan Roast Coffee

After months of procrastination, I've finally visited Artisan Roast Coffee, one of KL's third-wave coffee origins...

Right: Caffe Latte (RM 10)

Cheesecake (RM 10) and Assorted Slices (RM 2 each): Ladybug, Caramel, Jaffa and Grasshopper.

Loaded with cheese, a middle layer of chocolate and cookie crumble at the bottom, the cheesecake is delectable and pairs very well with the coffee..
