#76 Nutmeg

Few weeks ago, Melissa Sunshine was in town for convocation. Waking up to empty stomachs,we were basically bickering about what's for breakfast. Driving and roaming around town, we decided to stop by Bangsar Village II's Nutmeg, a place well-known for its breakfast/brunch? menu...

The first picture was taken two hours later after our breakfast, the crowd was overwhelming. We were there early, just in time for an isolated table-for-two...

Since it was Halloween, the place was abound with wallpapered bats and

We ordered two dishes, two for two....

Nutmeg Big Breakfast (RM 28)

Feeling famished to a point where I could swallow an elephant, I opted for a big breakfast. Nutmeg's version of the continental breakfast consists of two eggs done any style (mine's omelette), confit mushrooms, roasted  garlic tomatoes, fried mac & cheese, house-cured salmon and toasted bread.

Highlight's on the very fresh salmon and garlic tomatoes. The fried mac & cheese was awesome. However, the confit mushrooms didn't quite hit the right note with its slightly raw taste.

Nutmeg Gravlax "Croissant-wich" (RM 26)

Melissa's choice was a safe bet - a smoked paprika Gravlax topped with scrambled eggs served with a toasted croissant. The softness of the fresh Gravlax and scrambled eggs goes very well with the crispy and fluffy croissant.
