#61 Awesome Canteen

The cafe hop continues as I paid another visit to a beautiful cafe at Taman Paramount.

Awesome Canteen is indeed awesome with its vintage, hipster-inspired interior decor. We're talking 'bout old school metal stools, retro typewriter and telephone e.tc.

Paleo Chicken Burger (RM 18.90)

Casting the usual coffee aside, I had what the place is well-known for - Paleo Burger. So, what's a Paleo Burger? The word 'Paleo' is clearly a derivative of 'Paleolithic'. Given a contemporary interpretation , a Paleo Diet refers to a type of robust back-to-basic diet which wholesome, healthy and unprocessed food ingredients served instead of the usual modern fares such as grains, wheats,sugar and dairy e.t.c. An obvious health-conscious kind of diet it is.

I opted for a Paleo Chicken Burger, which on an interesting note, had a grilled portobello mushroom as its bun. The rest are greens, a large portion of organic greens. Odd pairing with scrambled egg aside, the dish overall was a tad too cold and undercooked for my liking.
